A Venezuelan TV host is hired by Gap
A Venezuelan girl won Miss Universe 2008, Dayana Mendoza, and now a Venezuelan guy is going to conquer the USA modeling market.
Jason Silva (24) was born in Caracas. He is a host and a producer of CurrentTV. This is the democratic channel belonging to Al Gore. There, the audience send video-reports that will compete to appear on TV.
A few years ago, Jason Silva was finishing Philosophy studies at Miami University. He lives in Miami since 2000. One day, he and his classmate Max Lugavere decided to participate in a contest organized by Current TV with a short film about hedonism.
They were hired and due to their career in Current TV, GAP chose them for promoting jeans Low Rise Straight which slogan is “See your own ability to change the world”.
Max and Jason will appear in the cover of September's Vanity Fair. Silva declared on the issue: “GAP designed its fall's campaign to show different people that are well-known among the society and who work in different areas. Max Lugevere and me represent Internet and citizens journalism's convergence or web 2.0 plus TV. Current TV is an example of democratic media where young people interact and find real news”.
